Now, here’s a funny thing. I looked up the cost of buying the Cassandra book from BookDepository. It’s priced at £12.03 (including “free delivery worldwide”). Its list price is quoted as £18.34, so it is currently advertising 34% off!
The RRP on the back cover still shows £9.99, but that was in 2008, so perhaps it’s sort of keeping pace with the cost of living, and 12 quid, including postage, doesn’t seem bad for a collection of columns by the man who was recognised as the master of his trade.
I looked at the price on amazon-uk: it is £9.99, maybe including UK delivery. (Only 6 copies left.)
Foyles, Charing Cross Road, also charges the original £9.99 – if you collect it from the store.
So if you have the time it may be worth shopping around. Or even going to a bookshop.
